George Rigakos

Peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, George Rigakos passed away peacefully at the age of 80, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Stella Rigakos. Loving father of Bill, John (Georgia), and Peter. Cherished grandfather of Cristina and Michael. Dear brother-in-law of Evangelia and Aggeliki of London, ON. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Efigenia and Eleni (Haralambros), and brothers Theodore and Peter. Fondly remembered by his golf buddies. George owned the Olympia Restaurant in Sarnia for over 40 years. He was one of the founding members of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and an active member of the community. George was a loyal fan of the Sarnia Sting. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, August 18, 2016, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1299 Murphy Rd., Sarnia, on Friday, August 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
